- Download and view your players
Go to the 'Database' tab (the purple
one) in the Excel Sheet and press the 'Download HRF' button. You will get a
Login Screen were you are required to enter your Hattrick user name and
password. The 'Hattrick Http' parameter should not be changes (usaully).
Enter a proxy if you use one in the following format:
http://my.proxy.address:81
Press the 'Import HRF' button on the 'Database' tab and select the
downloaded HRF file.
Go to the 'Players' tab (the orange one) and view your players.
Hover over the Player IDs to see an Hattrick format of the player's
abilities.
Press the 'Sort' button to open the 'Sort Dialog' and sort your players
by their abilities.
- Create a formation
On the 'Players' tab insert the player's positions
in the 'Auto Position' column (column 'C' in the Excel sheet). Use (Capitals
are important): K - for keeper, D - for defense, B
- for wingback, M - for midfield, W - for winger and F for forward.
On the 'Formation' area (the blue area on rows 3-13, columns H-V) see the
formation statistics.
Create automatic formations: Cell B11 is used for creating a priority
string for automatic formation. For example the following string 'KBBDWWMMMFF'
will be used to first select the best Keeper on the team, then select the 2
best Wingbacks (without the player already selected for the Keeper), then
select the best Defense player (without the players already selected) and so
on... Each letter present a single player using the above codes
(italic and blue font). After creating
the priority string, press the 'Auto V' button. Notice: if cell B13 equals
'1' then ExceTrick will use the input on the 'Auto Position' column as a
starting input. Use '0', or clear the column to let ExceTrick select all the
players.
- Permutations - Yellow tab
ExceTrick Permutations feature tries all
possible priority strings to get the best formation possible. This feature
can be very time consuming if you try to permutate all 11 players. For best
performance select 2-3 players in the 'Auto Position' column and use '1' in
the user-input cell (B5).
After selecting a few players in the 'Players' tab in the 'Auto Position'
column go to the 'Permutation' tab. Make sure the user-input cell (B5) has
the value '1' and click the 'Permutate V' button.
The process takes some time and some feedback is given in the status bar.
If the process takes too long Excel might seem not-responsive, not to worry
it will come alive when the computation finishes.
The output of this process are several priority strings, 3 for each
formation. Copy a priority string and paste into cell B11 in the 'Players'
tab, then press the 'Auto V' button.
- Team Progress - black tab
This feature is quick simple as long as you
have more than a single HRF file in the same folder as the ExceTrick.xls
file. Click the 'Choose Ability' button and you can switch between analyzing
a single player to analyzing an ability for the whole team.
- Fixtures - red tab
Press the 'Download Fixture' button to download
your league fixtures from the Hattrick site to ExceTrick. One downloaded you
can change the 'current week' cell (B4), change the game scores on future
games and click 'Build Table' button. This will update the table with future
scores.
- Go to the training tab, you will see 4 areas
(mark with green colors): Some training statistics. Your current team
statistics. Factors (which you can use to change the way the calculation
works). The training database and projection area (the bottom one) Click the
‘Build Database’ button. This will read all of the HRF files you have in the
same directory as the ExceTrick.xls file. Now, select a player in the combo
box and see it’s history and projection.
Notice:
The application doesn’t check if the player played at the position, but
assume he doesn’t if injured. The algorithm is simple, but you can change
the factors to play with the results (you will need to press the refresh
button to see the changes)
